The sports Men and Women depicted above are the culmination of all that's best in the African Caribbean contribution to British and Caribbean athletics. From Walter Tull footballer and first black officer in the British army in WW1 to the triumph of the West Indian cricketers and their team in making history with their outstanding performances, to the speed of Usain Bolt. They have set a standard we have become accustomed to and sometimes taken for granted. They are our pathfinders who have paved the way, stood the hardest test and triumphed especially for all those who have been fortunate enough to see them perform.
